  • SOME STUDENTS CAN BENEFIT FROM 1:1 ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM

    1:1 activity- working with pupils who may benefit from being outside of the classroom. Being in nature is good for everyone but some pupils particularly benefit with support outside of the classroom setting. We know being out in nature lowers our heart rate, boosts our immune system and stimulates the senses. The learning opportunities presented by the outdoor environment are limitless and its where everyone can achieve.

    Depending on the child’s needs, I devise activities that will build confidence, help children express and manage their emotions and overcome challenges. There is also lots of opportunity to get creative and make items they can feel proud of and take home.

  • Yes, for some children being in the classroom in a mainstream setting is highly challenging.

    I have provided 1:1 sessions for a child who increasingly was unable to attend mainstream school. Our sessions helped the child remain in school for two terms whilst an alternative provision was found.

  • Yes, I undertake training in outdoor first aid, including paediatric first aid with Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team. I regularly undertake this training to keep my knowledge and skills updated.
