Hi, I’m Claire!
I am so excited to be able to share my love for nature and explore the natural world with children and groups in my role as a Forest School Leader. Together we engage and learn from all the wondrous opportunities that come from deepening our connection with nature. Seeing the groups I work with come alive and further their passion for nature is a complete privilege.
I was lucky to experience a childhood spent outdoors and grew up able to pursue my interest in the natural world through study and volunteering on conservation projects. I completed a Masters degree in Education for Sustainability in 2008 and then worked in the charitable sector, promoting environmental education and encouraging more sustainable practices with groups of young people in schools, colleges and youth clubs. A project building gardens in inner-city schools led me back to wanting to be outdoors full-time and become a forest school practitioner. I became a Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader in 2017 and have loved every moment since!
In addition to being a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader, I have the following documents and qualifications, all available on request:
✔Enhanced DBS
✔Fully insured
✔Outdoor paediatric first aid (updated every 3 years)
✔Annual safeguarding training (updated annually)
✔Level 2 in food hygiene (updated every 3 years)
✔I'm a member of the Forest School Association and attend the Forest School South West annual conference to ensure my skills are kept up to date
